On any given day, including weekends, you’ll find Rita Sullivan doing any of  the following and more: planning a 33 table Health & Safety Fair, standing in a field with eight volunteers distributing “Identity Theft” pamphlets, or visiting neighboring COA’s with the “File of Life”.  She might also be preparing her “Fraud Bingo” or “Stealing without a Gun” programs to educate seniors about frauds targeting them.

Rita began her association with RSVP as an invaluable volunteer in Literacy Corps. As a Library Trustee for the Millbury Public Library, in Millbury, MA., Rita expanded her role to include a reading program called “Celebrity Readers”.  The show is broadcast in three communities: Millbury, Grafton and Sutton. Rita both produces and hosts the show which airs weekly.  The show connects young viewers with particular programs and offerings at the Millbury Public Library.

Some people just have the right “people skills” and Rita Sullivan is one of them.  She has galvanized a corps of volunteers who travel well outside of the Worcester city limits to present  Senior Health and Safety Programs. Rita is adept at program development, gaining input form volunteers and experts alike. After 38 years as a manager for Sears, Roebuck and Co. where she received numerous District Awards, as well as led many United Way Campaigns and “Big Events”.

In addition to her work as a Library Trustee, Rita devotes her time to her church as an Elder, Deacon, Finance Committee member, and in the Town of Millbury by serving on various Town committees. RSVP and the greater Worcester Community is the beneficiary of this multi-talented woman.
